One of my priorities as Communications Director is to expand the reach of Sacramento Republican Women Federated beyond our meetings and events—and put useful, credible information into the hands of voters.
California voters are asked to make decisions that directly affect our taxes, our businesses, our communities and our families. Yet understanding what legislation and ballot measures actually mean can be difficult. The language is complicated, the consequences aren’t always obvious, and too often voters don’t know what’s at stake until it’s too late. We want to help change that.
SRWF is expanding our legislative and voter education efforts with clear, shareable information designed to help voters understand the issues and make informed decisions at the ballot box.
Expertise behind the information
We are fortunate to have Michaela Swaney serving as SRWF’s Legislative Analyst. Michaela also serves as Legislative Analyst for the California Federation of Republican Women, bringing knowledge, research and a keen understanding of California legislation to our organization. Her work provides the substance. My job as Communications Director is to make sure that information doesn’t stay within our organization—it gets into the hands of voters.
California Taxes: What you need to know
We begin with two companion pieces focused on California taxes.
The first is informational—a straightforward look at proposed and pending tax increases that could affect Californians. The second is a Voter’s Guide—highlighting key ballot measures and tax legislation, along with SRWF’s recommended positions.
